SVT is the pioneer impact management firm in the US.

Our focus is on enabling an economy that creates value for all through impact accounting.

In 2001 there was a huge gap separating funders and operators working to create real-life impact.

SVT was born from our CEO’s observation back in the 90s of the glaring absence of a shared accounting system between the check-writers and operating professionals who were working to create lasting solutions to society’s wicked problems. This squandered both money and human potential, as gaps in funding repeatedly bled the momentum from solutions that actually worked.

At the same time, the business-as-usual approach of achieving profit above all else was increasingly coming into contrast with the growing environmental and socio-economic challenges faced by humanity.

Social entrepreneurship arose around this time: it harnessed market forces to grow wellbeing for people and communities in a more sustainable way, and it demanded a way to account for the value created for all. Impact investors joined in, committed to the concept that you can make money while doing good– and said it was not enough to put the word impact on the same old extractive investing.

The backbone of authentic, sustainable value creation is impact management. With it, we can build an economy that works for all. That’s our commitment.

Since SVT’s founding, we have contributed to shaping the infrastructure of the impact management field, its knowledge base, and its network both in the US and internationally.
